Hi, I'm Claire!

I am a New York City based movement photographer and retoucher. I first picked up my camera at the age of 13 and have been experimenting ever since. I currently study photography alongside my pursuit of a Bachelor of Art in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College. I graduate in May 2020.

Beyond photography, I am a dancer, yoga instructor, model, and choreographer. I teach private clients across NYC, perform in music videos, and present my choreography as part of various productions. I am also the current Programming Assistant at Moving for Life, a nonprofit that brings movement to those affected by breast cancer. This blend of professions provides me a unique perspective that bleeds through my photography style and direction.

Artist Statement

Movement and discovering ones inner beauty is at the heart of my work. I explore the dichotomy of photography and movement through every photograph. I focus on the performative process of capturing time. Photography aims to freeze time while movement is ephemeral. I aim to showcase the inner beauty of those that are a part of my work as well as inspire those who view it. I am inspired by film photographers of past as well as the trends that float by in the present.

As a dancer, I have a unique way of interacting with bodies in space. My choices and angles are in response to the movements and inner beauty of my subjects. I consistently ask “what's next” or “what else can we do” to push the boundaries. Because of this, everything I create is purely collaborative.
